KING'S BASEBALL HOST MORAVIAN COLLEGE ON TUESDAY, VIEW LIVESTATS

WILKES-BARRE – The King's College baseball team will return to the diamond Tuesday when the Monarchs host Moravian College in a 4:00 p.m. non-conference matchup at Lipo Field in the Robert L. Betzler Athletic Complex.

The Monarchs enter the game with a 18-13 overall record and a 7-7 Freedom Conference mark after splitting a doubleheader with DeSales. The Greyhounds have a 17-15 overall record and a 10-5 Landmark Conference mark after dropping a 9-8 decision to The Catholic University of America.
Leading the way for King's is sophomore Rob Fravel who has a .467 (50-107) average with five doubles, one triple, one home run and 23 RBI. Senior Jon Venarchick enters the game with a .447 (53-123) average with 12 doubles, six triples, five home runs and 35 RBI. Junior Matt Unger contributes at .371 (39-105) with 10 doubles, one home run and 26 RBI. Junior Eric Matula hits .366 (41-112) with eight doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 RBI.
For the pitchers, junior Dan Jenkins is 5-1 with a 5.22 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 60.1 innings. Senior Ryan Derry is 6-2 with a 5.25 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 36 innings. Senior Joe Jenkins is 2-2 with a 8.53 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 25.1 innings.
Moravian is led by Dave Zubia owns a .449 (31-69) batting average with six doubles and 15 RBI. Kevin O'Keefe follows at .427 (41-96) with nine doubles, three triples, five home runs and 46 RBI. Leading the way on the mound is Brendan Close who is 5-2 with a 3.08 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 49.2 innings. Thomas Fenyak is 5-2 with a 3.98 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 52 innings.
King's will next host Susquehanna University on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Lipo Field.
