KING'S SOFTBALL TEAM POSTS DOMINANT SWEEP OF BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE
 
CLARKS SUMMIT -- The King's College softball team registered 24 runs and 27 base hits as the Lady Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of host Baptist Bible College Wednesday in Clarks Summit.

King's won the first game 14-0 in five innings while capturing the nightcap 10-2, also in five innings. With the sweep, King's improved 18-12 on the year while Baptist Bible slipped to 13-22.

In the opener, Meghan Galvin powered King's by going 3-for-3 with five RBI, including a triple and home run. Becky Loring also came through by finishing 3-for-4 with five RBI and a triple and home run. Christie Parfitt, Abbey Knoblauch, and Lauren DeCreny added two hits each for King's.  Lindsey Hoerner picked up the pitching victory, scattering six hits in five innings while striking out five batters.

in the nightcap, freshman Shawna Walp tossed a five-inning three-hitter, striking out eight batters in the game. Offensively, Parfitt was 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a home run. Knoblauch went 2-for-4 with three runs and a double. Galvin was also 2-for-4 while Loring contributed by going 2-for-3 with two runs.

King's will wrap up its regular-season home slate Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. home doubleheader against FDU-Florham at Betzler Fields.
