KING'S SOFTBALL SWEPT BY MISERICORDIA
DALLAS -- The King's College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Misericordia University Thursday in Dallas. Misericordia won the first game 4-1 before taking the nightcap 8-4.
With the losses, King's slipped to 11-11 overall and 3-5 in Freedom Conference play. Misericordia, meanwhile, improved to 14-10 and 7-3.
In the second game, Misericordia used three runs in the third and a four-run fourth to register the victory. Parfitt led the Lady Monarchs with two hits and a run scored. Lauren DeCreny was 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run while Samantha Hoernberger was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Gretchen Tholen was 1-for-4 with a RBI while Knoblauch finished 1-for-3. Shawna Walp was the losing pitcher, allowing eight runs, seven earned, with one strikeouts on 13 base hits.
King's will be idle until Tuesday when the Lady Monarchs host Wilkes in a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader at Betzler Fields.
