KING'S FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO TOP-RAKED MESSIAH, 6-0
 
WILKES-BARRE – Katie Love and Amber Philpot scored two goals each and Elizabeth Ziegler dished out three assists to lead visiting Messiah College, the top-ranked team in Division III, to a 6-0 victory over host King's College Wednesday at Betzler Fields.

With the win, Messiah improved to 7-0 while King's slipped to 4-3.
 
Messiah struck early and often with Love striking net at 4:06 into the contest and Jenna Max and Amber Philpot added goals at 7:51 and 10:07 to build up a 3-0 led. Philpot would add her second score at 26:43 to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead at the break.

King's would play better in the second half, but Messiah scored their fifth goal on a Love tally at 42:13 before Emily Hursh tacked on the final score with 1:39 left in the contest.

Messiah outshot King's 11-0 in the first half, but the Lady Monarchs closed the gap to 8-5 over the final 35 minutes of play.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 5:50 p.m. contest at FDU-Florham in Madison, NJ.
