KING'S FIELD HOCKEY CONCLUDES REGULAR SEASON AT MONTCLAIR STATE; PREPS FOR FREEDOM CONFERENCE TOURNEY NEXT WEEK
WILKES-BARRE – With the 2010 Freedom Conference Tournament on the horizon and a second seed wrapped up, the King's College field hockey team will close out its regular season slate with a non-conference match Saturday at Montclair State University at 1:00 p.m.

King's stands 14-3 overall and have already secured the second seed at next week's Freedom Tourney, finishing 6-1 in league play. The Lady Monarchs posted a convincing 8-2 victory over Commonwealth Conference foe Albright College Thursday night at McCarthy Stadium.
The game figures to be a quality matchup to help prepare King's for the post-seaosn as the Lady Monarchs lost to Montclair 4-1 at home.
King's has been led all season by the scoring duo of Calli Berryman and Jenera Quinones. Berryman tops the team and conference with 43 points on 17 goals and nine assists. Quinones follows with 42 points on 17 goals and eight assists, including a hat trick in the win against the Lions. Danielle Terracciano adds 24 points on 11 goals and two helpers. Lady Monarch goalie Erin McGinley has been solid in net with a 1.22 goals against average with 69 saves and four shutouts.
Montclair State enters the non-league tilt with a 8-6 overall mark following a 4-1 win against Richard Stockton on Wednesday. The Red Hawks are led by Deana Hagel with 30 points on 10 goals and 10 assists.
Jessica Murphy contributes 14 points on six goals and two helpers, while Brittany Carroll and Melissa Flaherty each add 11 points. Goalie Megan Bosland boasts a 1.58 goals against average with 73 saves and one shutout in 15 matches.
King's will begin play in the Freedom Conference Tournament Wednesday when they welcome third seeded FDU-Florham to McCarthy Stadium for a semi-final match scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The match will mark the second meeting this season between the squads as King's posted a 5-1 win September 25th against the Devils at McCarthy Stadium. Winner of the semi-final match will play in the Freedom Conference Championship on Saturday, November 6th at the highest remaining seed. #1 Eastern University plays host to #4 Delaware Valley College in the other semi-final Wednesday.
