KING'S MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISH 16TH AT DESALES INVITE
CENTER VALLEY -- The King's College men's and women's cross country teams both finished in 16th place at the DeSales University Invitational Saturday in Center Valley.
The men were 16th of 24 total teams while the women's squad was 16th of 21 squads.
For the Lady Monarchs, Shannon McGowan paced the squad by finishing 36th out of a total of 198 runners, tallying a time of 25:21.90 in the 6K race. Heather Elphick was 93rd at 27:28.67; Maddie Schiminger finished 133rd with a 28:45.95; while Kirstie Nicol came in 134th at 28:54.52. Other King's runners included Jill O'Malley (141st), 29:07.26 and Hannah Eckles (197th), 35:47.34.
For the men, Brent Lewandowski was the top King's finisher, checking in at 119th out of 277 total runners with a time of 30:17.48 in the 8K run. Greg Kelly was 122nd at 30:20.94 while Brandon Sweeney was 30:55.21. Robert MacNeal came in 159th at 31:33.55, Patrick Gramling was 32:00.02, while Dan Byrne stood 174th with a 32:02.
Other Monarch men included Ryan Glenn (86th), 32:19.63; Nick Jallat (189th), 32:37.37; Dan Migatulski (190th), 32:39.63; Vince Battipaglia (208th), 32:18.46; Chris Thompson (236th), 35:08.03; Chris Tobias (248th), 36:35.48; Jerry McAndrew (257), 38:26.37; Gary Schemel (268th), 39:36.13; and Steve Gerencser (270th), 43:34.39.
