KING'S WOMEN'S SWIMMING FALLS 164-77 AGAINST MISERICORDIA; LADY MONARCHS BREAK THREE SCHOOL RECORDS IN MEET

WILKES-BARRE – Visiting Misericordia University posted a 164-77 victory over King's College in women's swimming action Saturday afternoon at the Scanlon Pool. The meet marked the first conference contest of the year for both squads.
Following the meet, King's slips to 4-4 overall. Misericordia improves to 4-4 on the year.
King's saw three school records broken in the meet. Patricia Manning (York, PA, York Suburban)continued her fine showing in the water capturing first place in the 200 breaststroke while breaking her own school record mark at 2:34.24. Manning also shattered the school record in the 400 IM at 4:52.83, previously held by teammate Maggie Nealer (Camillus, NY, West Genesee) at 5:12.26 last season. The team of Manning, Rebecca Smith (Wharton, NJ, Roxbury), Caitlin Casey (Wilkes-Barre, PA, Holy Redeemer), and Amanda Casey (Ashley, PA, Hanover Area) captured the school record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.43. The previous mark was set in 1998 by Carly Patla, Karen Baker, Liz Bareford, and Danielle Kishbaugh at 2:02.63. Nealer also took home first place in the 1000 freestyle (11:41.54).
King's will return to the water December 4th and 5th when they compete in the Franklin and Marshall Invitational.
