In the opener, the teams were deadlocked in a scoreless tie until the fourth inning when Lindsey Hoerner singled and advanced to third on a base hit by Christie Parfitt. With the bases loaded, Kaitlin Siegfried drew a walk to force in Hoerner with the first run of the game.

In the bottom of the frame, responded with a pair of RBI singles to take a 2-1 lead. The deciding fifth inning saw two King's errors come into play as Capital pushed across four runs, three unearned, including a three-run home run from pinch hitter Ashley Daughtery to build a 6-1 lead.  The Crusaders added  an insurance run in the sixth inning when Alexa Majoy smacked a solo home run.

King's posted five hits in the game off Crusader star hurler Brittany Stefano (10-0) who struck out 11 batters. Hoerner pitched well in defeat  allowing seven runs three which were earned, on eight hits while striking out eight batters.

In the second game, King's fell behind 1-0 after the Crusaders' opening at-bat but scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Samantha Hornberger singled and scored following a base hit from Lauren DeCreny. Hoerner singled and later scored from third on a bases-loaded walk to Katie Fry.

After Capital tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the second, King's recaptured a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame when Siegfried singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Meaghan Galvin, and eventually scored following a single off the bat of DeCreny

The Crusaders tied the score at 3-3 with a run in the fourth, but the Lady Monarchs responded with a run in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead when Hoerner drilled a solo home run over the right field fence.

After a scoreless sixth inning, Capital managed to tie the score in its final at-bat when Majoy walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. After a walk to Jess Stoltz, King's picked up an out on a fielder's choice as pinch runner Sarah Finkel moved to third. Steph Peterson followed with an RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.

After King's went down in order in the bottom-of-the-seventh inning, the teams would enter extra innings using the international tiebreaker rule. With Capital's Katie Neely placed at second base, Abbey Parsley reached base on a King's throwing error as Neely moved to third base. Devan Boggs delivered a RBI single as Parsley advanced to third base. Stoltz then tapped a soft grounder to second base, allowing Parsley to score from third as the Crusaders built a 6-4 lead.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Annie Erndl was placed at second base and moved to third on an infield out by Siegfried. After Galvin flied out to centerfield for the second out, Hornberger stroked a single to plate Enrdl and cut the lead to 6-5. The rally would fall short, however, as DeCreny grounded out to end the game.

King's posted 12 hits in the game as DeCreny finished 2-for-5 with two RBI while Fry and Hoerner were both 2-for-3 with an RBI. Hornberger was 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Erndl took the pitching loss, allowing six runs, three which were earned, on 11 hits and struck out five batters in going the distance.

King's resumes play Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. matchup with Denison University before meeting 21st ranked Salisbury at 3:00 p.m.
