King's Softball Splits with Oneonta State

KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS AT ONEONTA
 
ONEONTA, NY -- The King's College softball team won game-two 9-8 in a contest that was called for darkness after five innings, giving the Lady Monarchs a split with Oneonta State University Tuesday in Oneonta, NY. Oneonta won the opener 8-4.

With the split, King's stands at 12-10 overall while Oneonta owns a 12-11 mark.

In game-one, Oneonta jumped put to a 8-0 lead after two innings to quickly take command. King's mustered a run in the third innings, two runs in the sixth, and another in the seventh. Meaghan Galvin was 3-for-4 while Christie Parfitt was 2-for-2. Lindsey Hoerner took the pitching loss, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in six innings.

In the nightcap, King's trailed 7-2 after three innings, but the Lady Monarchs exploded for seven runs in the fourth to take a 9-7 lead. Galvin continued her torrid hitting with a 4-for-4 showing while Annie Erndl was 2-for-3 with two runs and a two-run home run. Erndl was also the winning pitcher, allowing three earned runs in five innings with three strikeouts.
 
King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at Wilkes University.
