KING'S SOFTBALL HOSTING ITHACA WEDNESDAY, VIEW LIVESTATS

 

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College softball team host Ithaca College, who are perennial contenders for the NCAA softball championships on Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader at the Betzler Athletic Complex.

 

King's, which enters the matchup with a 14-12 overall record after picking up a doubleheader victory over Baptist Bible on Tuesday. Ithaca meanwhile stands at 19-9 overall after splitting a doubleheader with nationally ranked University of Rochester on Tuesday.

Senior shortstop Meaghan Galvin leads the team with a .407 (37-91) with five doubles, one triple and 15 RBI. Senior pitcher Lindsey Horner is batting .378 (28-74) with nine doubles, one triple, three home runs and 21 RBI. Freshman outfielder Kaitlin Siegfried adds a .316 (25-79) with four doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI. Senior first baseman Katie Fry contributes a .309 (21-68) average with six doubles, one home run and 16 RBI. Freshman pitcher Annie Erndl chips in with a .292 (14-48) average with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.

 

In the circle, Hoerner owns a 10-6 record with a 3.12 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 101 innings. Annie Erndl is 4-6 with 50 strikeouts in 63 innings.

 

Ithaca is paced by Kerry Barger who is hitting .317 (26-70) with six doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI. The pitchers are led by Allison Greaney who is 7-1 with a 2.10 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 50 innings.
