The Lady Monarchs enters the matchup with a 18-14 overall record and a 8-4 conference mark after splitting a doubleheader with Centenary College on Wednesday. Manhattanville, meanwhile, is 17-16-1 overall mark and also owns a 8-4 league record after dropping a doubleheader to DeSales on Saturday.
Should either team win both games, they will earn the second seed in next week's Freedom Conference Tournament. A split would keep the teams tied. With Misericordia a game behind at 7-5 in conference games, a three-way tie for second place is possible should King's and Manhattanville split and Misericordia sweep Eastern. In such a scenario were to happen, an MAC tiebreaking criteria would be applied.
Senior shortstop Meaghan Galvin leads the team with a .405 (45-111) with six doubles, one triple and 18 RBI. Senior pitcher/designated player Lindsey Hoerner, who was named Freedom Conference Pitcher of the week on Monday, follows at .393 (35-89) with 11 doubles, two triples three home runs and 23 RBI. Junior third-baseman Gretchen Tholen bats .326 (31-95) with six doubles, five triples and 17 RBI. Senior first-baseman Katie Fry stands at .318 (37-85) with six doubles, one home run and 19 RBI. Sophomore outfielder Kaitlin Siegfried bats .306 (30-98) with five doubles, two home runs, one triple and 23 RBI.
In the circle, Hoerner owns a 13-7 record with a 2.71 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 129 innings. Freshman pitcher Annie Erndl is 5-7 with 51 strikeouts in 76 innings.
Manhattanville is paced by Alyssa Taylor who is hitting .382 (21-55) with six doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI while also going 8-4 in the circle recording a 3.70 ERA, striking out 62 batters in 89 innings.
