DALLAS – The King's College women's cross country team captured 1st place at the Cougar Classic held on the campus of Misericordia University Saturday morning. The King's men's squad finished 5th at the event.
Four Lady Monarchs medaled in the seven-team event. Senior Tori Posatko led the Lady Monarchs with a second place finish crossing the tape at 20:50.6. Molly Brown finished fifth at 21:07.9, while Shannon McGowan took home sixth place with a time of 21:12.7. Heather Elphick finished eleventh at 22:21.
For the men, two Monarchs medaled in the race. Jeff Cort led the Monarchs with an eleventh place finish at 29:31.4. Greg Kelly finished at 29:45.6, good for thirteenth overall.
Both teams will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Pittsburg, Pa. to compete at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational.
