PITTSBURGH, PA – The King's College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Mideast Pre Regional Race on Saturday held on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. The women's squad captured 13th place, while the Monarch men finished 16th.
Shannon McGowan led the Lady Monarchs with a time of 25:14, good for 56th place. Molly Brown finished 75th at 25:43, while Heather Elphick took home 105th place with a time of 26:48. Kirstie Nicol captured 131st place at 27:43, Jill O'Malley finished 136th at 28:07, Madeline Schiminger finished 151st at 28:48, while Hannah Echles rounded out the runners finishing 178th crossing the tape at 36:44.
For the men, Jeff Cort led the Monarchs with a 102nd place finish at 29:17. Brent Lewandowski took home 117th at 29:40, while Greg Kelly finished 141st at 30:24. Brandon Sweeney (158/31:22), Nicholas Jallat (164/31:33), Bob MacNeal (166/31:44), Dan Bryne (168/31:50), Dan Migatulski (169/31:53), Patrick Gramling (171/31:58), Ryan Glenn (175/32:10), Vince Battipaglia (181/32:48), and Chris Thompson (194/34:07) rounded out the runners for King's.
Both teams will return to action Saturday when they travel cross-town to Wilkes University for a meet scheduled at 10:00 a.m.
