Keyton Winder took advantage of his first career start scoring a game-high 21 points helping lift King's past Pitt-Bradford 84-63 Friday night at Scandlon Gymnasium.
With 12:04 Alex VanDeusen knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the King's lead to 16-13.
Matt Fiorino answered with a trey of his own that sparked a 13-4 run and opened up a 29-17 lead.
The Panthers (3-5) fired back with the next seven points capped by a Tyler Ferguson layup to cut the margin to 29-24. The Monarchs (5-5) rounded out the first half on a 14-6 run, aided by three 3-point baskets from
Mike Foster, to take a 43-30 lead into the locker room.
In the second half the King's lead shrank to single digits, 64-55 at 7:18 on a VanDeusen triple, but the Monarchs quickly built the lead back to 71-55 with Winder scoring four points on a pair of layups.
Winder also pulled in five rebounds and five steals.
Matt Fiorino joined Winder in double figures with 20 points shooting 7-of-8 from the field and connected on 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Kyle Stackhouse chipped in 12 points, seven assists and five boards.
Nick Reisig also added seven dimes, as well as six points and four rebounds.
VanDeusen paced the Panther offense with 18 points to go with five boards and three helpers. Ferguson tallied a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and also dished out four assists.
Pitt-Bradford was coahced by Britt Moore who played for the Monarchs. Moore graduated fom King's in 2004.
The Monarchs will take part in the inaugural Cross County Challenge on Monday when they take on host Marywood at 8:00 p.m.
