WILKES-BARRE, PA (June 4, 2026) -- The King's College Athletic Department is proud to announce that former men's basketball star Brian Horgan '05 has been inducted into the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.

"What a tremendous honor it is to be selected for the MAC Hall of Fame," Horgan said. "While it's nice to be recognized for individual accomplishments, I was fortunate to have an incredible support system throughout my journey. I am truly grateful for this honor and for everyone who played a role in helping me achieve it."

Horgan joins an elite group of conference legends in the MAC Hall of Fame's 15th induction class. He becomes the 13th individual in King's history to earn a place in the MAC's prestigious Hall since its inception in 2012, adding his name to a distinguished list of Monarch greats who have shaped the legacy of athletics at King's College.

One of the most prolific players ever to wear the red and gold, Horgan concluded his career ranked third all-time in program history with 1,637 career points. His senior season in 2004-05 stands as one of the greatest individual campaigns in Monarch history, as he powered King's to a program-record 24-6 mark, a Freedom Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Elite Eight, the deepest postseason run the program has ever achieved.

A dominant two-way presence, Horgan averaged 19.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.9 assists per game as a senior while knocking down 83 three-pointers, the fourth-most in a single season in program history. His 597 points that year remain the second-highest single-season total ever recorded by a Monarch. He led the team in scoring as a junior in 2003-04 before pacing King's in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots during his historic senior campaign. His postseason accolades included Freedom Conference Player of the Year, Freedom Conference Tournament MVP, ECAC First Team All-Star and NABC First Team All-Region honors.

Reflecting on the journey behind his success, Horgan credited the support system that surrounded him throughout his career.

"First, I am extremely grateful for my parents. They were in attendance at every game, and their support meant everything to me," Horgan said. "I would also credit Coach Andrejko. He always believed in me and helped me stay motivated, even through injuries. Finally, my teammates. I was fortunate enough to play alongside some outstanding athletes and even better people. The friendships I made will last a lifetime, and I will always look back on my time at King's as some of the best years of my life."

Horgan's excellence extended beyond his collegiate career. Following graduation, he was offered a professional contract with St. Vincent's Saints in Dublin, Ireland but chose to remain stateside to compete in the ABA with the NEPA Breakers. He later transitioned into the family concrete business before co-founding J.L. Horgan Services with his brothers in 2011, using his B.S. in Business Administration from King's to help build and sustain a thriving company. He and his wife, Kimberly Bray '04, reside in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, with their two children, Bray and Bryn.

Former King's College head men's basketball coach and current men's golf head coach JP Andrejko, who guided Horgan during the Monarchs' historic run, shared high praise for the newest MAC Hall of Famer.

"Brian was not only a great basketball player for King's College, he was also one of the best leaders I have ever coached. This can be evidenced in his senior year when he led a team comprised of mostly freshmen to the Elite Eight. Brian's quiet and laid-back personality was overshadowed by his impressive work ethic. He demonstrated to our younger players what it meant to be dedicated and work hard to accomplish your goals. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that Brian played through a back injury his final two years that left him in a great deal of pain on most days. In my 25 years of coaching at King's College, Brian ranks as the best player to wear our uniform."

King's will schedule an in-person presentation of the MAC Hall of Fame award to Horgan at a later date.
