In the opener on Friday, Capital took a 1-0 first-inning lead when Daugherty doubled and later scored on a two-out error.

King's answered in the top of the second inning when Kaitlin Siegfried singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Amanda Cardone. Brittany Bayne then drilled a RBI triple to centerfield to knot the score at 1-1.

Capitall responded in the bottom half of the inning when Neely singled and moved to second on a bunt. Peterson then followed with a run-scoring double down the left field line to give the Crusaders a 2-1 lead.

King's tied the game in the fifth when Jenn Harnischfeger doubled and touched home following a single up the middle by Gretchen Tholen.

In the decisive sixth inning, however, Reimer singled and Peterson reached base on an error. After both runners advanced on a bunt, Goodwin delivered a two-run single to five Capital a 4-2 lead.

King's attempted to rally in the seventh, as Erin Beane smacked a one-out double. Harnischfeger tapped a grounder to short but Beane was thrown out attempting to reach third base. Rachel Zinni then drew a two-out walk as Harnischfeger moved to second, but King's was unable to take advantage when Tholden grounded out to end the game.

Siegfried and Bean were both 2-for-3 to lead King's while Kayla Rutkoski, Baynes, Tholen, and Harnischfeger added one hit each. Annie Erndl took the pitching loss, allowing four runs, only one which was earned, with four strikeouts in six innings.

Against 16th ranked Salisbury (15-4), the Lady Monarchs ran into a buzz saw as the Sea Gulls exploded for eight runs in the first inning, then nine in the second frame. Salisbury also banged out three home runs in the game. King's, meanwhile, had no answers for Salisbury pitching standout Erika Brittingham who tossed her fourth no-hitter of the season. Brittingham has been dominant this season, striking out 11 King's batters to up her season strikeout total to 121 in just 74 innings.
