KING'S SOFTBALL DROPS 11-10 HEARBREAKER TO CAPITAL

SALISBURY, MD -- Capital University rallied from a 10-4 deficit over the final two innings to post a 11-10 victory over the King's College softball team Saturday on the final day of the Salisbury University Invitational in Salisbury, MD. With the loss, King's slipped to 4-4 on the year while Capital improved to 9-2.

An inning later, King's added two more runs when Kayla Rutkoski led off with a solo home run to push the lead to 6-4. Erin Beane was then hit by a pitch and later scfred from third-base on a sacrifice fly by Zinni to give the Lady Monarchs a 7-4 advantage.

In the fifth inning, King's added three more runs when Baynes singled and moved to third on a base hit from Rebecca Taylor. On the next play Rutkoski tapped a ground ball to shortstop and Baynes beat the throw at home for a 8-4 King's lead.
