KING'S FOOTBALL HOSTING ALBRIGHT ON HOMECOMING

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College football team will return to Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday when the Monarchs host Albright College at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium in the Betzler Athletic Complex. The game will serve as King's Homecoming Game for the 2011 season.

Kings is in its second year under head coach Jeff Knarr who continues the rebuilding process. The Monarchs, who finished with a 1-9 record last season, look to continue the momentum gained from its 51-26 victory over Stevenson University last week. The Monarchs dropped a 13-6 decision to William Paterson at home on September 3, but saw its second game against Bethany on September 10 postponed due to the flooding in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the wake of Hurricane Irene.

The team responded to the unexpected heavy rains, abbreviated practices, and lost time on the field with a solid effort against Stevenson. King's will now face a difficult stretch with three straight games against top MAC programs Albright, Widener, and Lycoming before  a scheduled bye week on October 15.
