KING'S MEN HOSTING UNDEFEATED LYCOMING IN 1ST MEETING BETWEEN TEAMS SINCE 2006-07 SEASON
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's basketball team will take on an old foe Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when undefeated Lycoming College invades Scandlon Gymnasium for a 3:00 p.m. matchup. The game will serve as King's final tune up before the Monarchs resume Freedom Conference play next week.

King's and Lycoming, both members of the Middle Atlantic Conferences, enjoyed a healthy rivalry before Lycoming was moved from the Freedom Conference side of the MAC to the Commonwealth side beginning in 2007-08. The teams have played 61 times over the year with King's holding a 33-28 advantage. The last time the teams was played was during the Monarchs 2006-07 Freedom Conference championship season when King's swept the series by scores of 58-52 in Williamsport on January 17, 2007 and then again by a 79-61 margin in Scandlon Gym on February 7, 2007.
The last time Lycoming was victorious in Scandlon Gym was in 97-94 double-overtime thriller on January 27, 2001.
The Monarchs enter the contest with a 6-6 record after a split at the inaugural Cross-County Challenge at Marywood University Monday and Tuesday. King's opened the tournament with an 81-53 victory over Marywood and then lost to long-time rival Scranton 62-47 in the first match up between the two teams since the 2006-07 season.
Lycoming is 12-0 after sweeping a pair of games in its own Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament last weekend. In the tournament opener the Warriors dropped Penn State-Abington 106-73 and then took care of Mount Union 91-75 in the championship game. The Warriors on the fringe of being nationally ranked and were listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" category of the D3Hoops.com national rankings.

Kyle Hammonds, the 2011 Freedom Conference "Rookie of the Year", leads King's in scoring with 11.8 points per game as well as grabbing 3.1 rebounds. Junior guard
Matt Fiorino has turned in 10.8 points and has shot 28-of-64 from three-point range. Senior point guard
Kyle Stackhouse has chipped in 9.8 point, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Freshman forward
Keyton Winder has turned in a solid freshman season to date, averaging 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds. Since entering the starting lineup on December 30, Winder has averaged 14.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per-game. Over the last four games, Winder has averaged 17.0 points, and 6.0 boards.

Mike Foster tallies 6.9 points with 17 three-pointers. Sophomore guard
Donovan Womack has posted 5.5 points and 2.0 assists while senior forward Nick Reisg chips in with 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds.As a team, the Monarchs are averaging 75.0 points per-game while yielding 72.5.
The Warriors are led by Kevin Anthony with 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds. Junior guard Anthony Martin is averaging 13.6 points and 2.7 boards while shooting .578 from the field, making 67-of-116 attempts. Senior center Mike Bradley is the Warriors third player scoring in double-digits with 11.8 points while adding team-high 5.9 rebounds each contest. Junior guard Ihsaan Davis contributes 8.5 points and 3.2 rebounds with 18 three-pointers. Freshman guard Patrick Dougher tallies 7.8 points with a team-high 24 three-pointers while junior guard Jerald Williams chips in with 7.8 points and 4.2 rebounds. Lycoming averages a healthy 86.5 points per-game while allowing 73.0 points each contest.
Following its matchup with Lycoming, King's will return to Freedom Conference play on Wednesday when the Monarchs travel to Center Valley to face DeSales University in an 8:00 p.m. matchup in Billera Hall.
