King's Men's Basketball Hosts Manhattanville in Home Finale
Wilkes-Barre, PA— The King's College men's basketball team closes out its home schedule on Saturday when they take on Manhattanville at 3:00 p.m. at Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Monarchs have hit a rough patch recently dropping seven straight games including a 70-66 loss on Wednesday to Delaware Valley to drop to 8-14 overall and 3-8 in the Freedom Conference. The Valiants moved to 10-11 overall and 4-7 in the Freedom after a 80-71 loss against DeSales on Thursday.
Manhattanville had the better end of the teams last meeting knocking off the Monarchs 80-69 in Purchase. Four Valiants reached double figures led by 19 points from Armani Blackmon. Jeffrey Ventura posted 17 points for Manhattanville. Freshman
Tim O'Shea tallied a game-high 22 points to lead the Monarch offense.
Kyle Stackhouse chipped in 15 points for King's.
The Monarch offense ranks fifth in the Freedom Conference averaging 69.3 points and has the sixth best scoring defense allowing 70.8 points per contest. Manhattanville boasts the fourth best offense in the Freedom averaging 69.4 points per game while allowing opponents 70.0 points per contest.
Kyle Hammonds is the only King's player averaging double figures with 11.1 points to go with 3.3 rebounds. Freshman
Keyton Winder has tallied 9.4 points, 4.2 boards and blocked 11 shots.
Matt Fiorino drained six of his 46 3-pointers on Wednesday against Delaware Valley and is averaging 9.1 points per contest.
Stackhouse has been versatile for the Monarchs in his senior season scoring 8.8 points, 4.5 boards and his 3.0 assists per game ranks sixth in the conference. O'Shea has chipped in 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Fellow freshman
Mike Foster is averaging 6.0 points per game while leading the conference in 3-point shooting percentage with .518. Senior guard
Nick Reisig has added 5.8 points and his 3.1 assists per game is the fourth best mark in the Freedom.
King's seniors Stackhouse, Reisig, and ERic Brown will also be recognized before the game.
The Valiants offense has been keyed by Trevoy Pointer who is averaging 16.2 points to go with 4.0 rebounds per game. Blackmon is also posting double figures in scoring with 11.2 points and a team-high 8.9 boards per game. Jack Branswig has netted 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.
The Monarchs will be hosting an alumni game at 10:00 a.m.
Among the list of former Monarchs attending are King's all-time leading scorer Corey Dickerson who tallied 2,059 points, from 1998-2001; fourth all-time leading scorer Brian Horgan, 1,637 points from 2001-05; seventh-ranked
Kevin Conroy, who scored 1,437 points from 2008-11; 10th all-time leading scorer Jamie Cousart, who tallied 1,354 points from 2005-08; 11th best Vince Scalzo, who netted 1,292 points from 2005-08; and 16th ranked John Soboleski, 1,161 points from 2005-08.
Other confirmed alumni expected to return include Jim Schule, Brandon Abney, Jamar Stokes, Dave Marks, Jared Black, Vince Sobocinski, Dave King, Kofi Dwebeng. Marty O'Hora, Landon Gabriel, Jim Welsh, Greg Cercone, Nate Alcott, and
Adam Brasky.
