WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 14, 2026) -- Head coach Phil Pierfy has made the first addition to his coaching staff, announcing the hiring of Dom Vazquez as an assistant coach for the King's College men's basketball program.

Vazquez arrives in Wilkes-Barre after spending time on the sidelines at Archbishop Ryan High School while also serving as a skills trainer with Pure Game Hoops. In those roles, he has worked closely with players on skill development while gaining valuable coaching experience at both the high school and youth levels.

"We are very excited to bring Dom into the program," said Pierfy. "His knowledge of basketball and tireless work ethic will make him a great addition in all aspects of King's Men's Basketball. His magnetic personality and ties to youth basketball in the Philadelphia area will be assets to the program. We are beyond excited to have him on staff!"

Vazquez begins his collegiate coaching career by reuniting with Pierfy, who coached him throughout his four-year playing career at Arcadia University. A four-year starter for the Knights, Vazquez helped lead the program to a MAC Freedom Championship in 2023 while developing into one of the team's top playmakers and leaders.

The Philadelphia, PA native graduated in 2025 after appearing in 100 career games and finishing with 757 points and 251 assists. He also established himself in the Arcadia record book as the program's single-game assists record holder with 12 and was recognized on the 2025 Winter MAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the King's College family as Assistant Coach," said Vazquez. "I look forward to making an impact and building relationships."

Vazquez added that he is eager to get started and contribute to the continued success of the Monarchs.

"Can't wait to get to work with this program and be part of something special," said Vazquez.

A 2025 graduate of Arcadia University, Vazquez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice while balancing the demands of being a four-year student-athlete. He was also named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll during his collegiate career.

As an assistant coach, Vazquez will assist with all aspects of the King's men's basketball program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, and game-day operations.
