KING'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS PAIR IN MYRTLE BEACH
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The King's College softball team swept a pair of games Monday at the Snowbird Softball Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC.
In its first game of the day the Lady Monarchs defeated Penn State Harrisburg 13-0 before besting Penn College of Technology 16-0. With the wins the Lady Monarchs improved to 3-1.
Against PSU-Harrisburg,
Rachel Zinni was 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBI, one triple and one home run.
Kaitlin Siegfried went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs, and three RBI.
Tina Seber was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI while
Amanda Cardone finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
Robyn Klingerman was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits with two strikeouts in five innings.
In the win over Penn College, Cardone enjoyed a big game with a 4-for-4 showing with a home run, double, and four RBI.
Rebecca Taylor was also 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and a double.
Brittany Haight picked up the pitching win, allowing one hit with six strikeouts in four innings.
Annie Erndl pitched one inning of scoreless relief and struck out one batter.
King's will play Immaculata University and Swarthmore College Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
