Myrtle Beach, SC— The Lady Monarch softball team swept a pair of games on their spring break trip defeating Immaculata 17-2 and earning a 5-4 win over Swarthmore in the second game.

Amanda Cardone paced the offense for King's in the opening game going 4-for-4 driving in five runs and scoring three times. Brittny Baynes drove home a pair of runs and scored three times while going 2-for-4. Kayla Rutkoski tallied four RBI.

Annie Erndl got the win for the Lady Monarchs pitching three innings allowing just one run on one hit, striking out three and walking two. Allison Herbert also pitched two innings allowing on run on one hit.

Against Swarthmore Kaitlin Siegfried was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk and one RBI. Cardone was added a double and a triple and drove home a run.

Karissa Kross pitched four innings allowing a pair of runs. Kross allowed just one hit, but walked six batters while striking out one. Brittany Haight pitched three innings allowed four hits and two runs.

The Lady Monarchs take on Miami University Hamilton at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and then will play Bluefield College at 11:30 a.m.
