KING'S SOFTBALL IMPROVES TO 7-1 IN SOUTHERN TRIP
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The King's College softball team improved to 7-1 on its spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, SC as the Lady Monarchs swept a pair of single games from Miami University-Hamilton and Bluefield College.
King's won its opener over Miami-Hamilton by a score of 22-1 before downing Bluefield 12-0.
Against Miami-Hamilton,
Jenn Harnischfeger went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs, and two RBI.
Rebecca Taylor was 3-for-4 with six RBI,two runs and three doubles.
Robyn Klingerman was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and one run in three innings.
Allison Herbert finished the game, allowing three hits in two innings.
Against Bluefield,
Amanda Cardone was 1-for-3 with a grand slam home runs.
Kayla Rutkoski finished 3-for-3 with a home run and scored two runs.
Rachel Zinni was 3-for-4 with two runs and a RBI while Taylor went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Annie Erndl was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits with three strikeouts in three innings.
Karissa Kross tossed the final two innings, striking out two batters while not allowing a hit.
King's will now begin its trip back North but will first compete in the Seagull Classic at Salisbury University in Salisbury Maryland Friday and Saturday.
