The Lady Monarchs added two more in the second inning when Lisa Alley singled and later scored from third on a wild pitch. Zinni also singled and touched home on a sacrifice fly by Cardone.

After Drew scored four runs in the fifth to cut the lead to 5-4, King's added an insurance run in the seventh when Kaitlyn Siegfried reached base on an error and later scored on a single by pinch hitter Tina Seber.

Allison Herbert was the winning pitcher for King's, lasting four and two-thirds innings and allowing four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. Annie Erndl picked up the save, allowing two hits with two strikeouts over the final and one-third innings.
