The Monarchs will look to improve on their 10-15 overall record and 5-9 mark in Freedom Conference play in 2012. King's returns experience with four players that started at least 11 games back in 2013 led by seniors Kyle Hammonds and Joe Caffrey. Junior Tim O'Shea and sophomore Tom Heston also bring starting experience.

Hammonds was a 2012 Freedom Conference honorable mention selection after averaging 12.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He needs just 87 points to become the 28th player in King's history to score 1,000 points in a career. Caffrey looks to increase his role at the point guard position after starting 13 games scoring 6.3 points and dishing out 2.0 assists per contest. O'Shea added 7.6 points off the bench while also grabbing 4.4 boards.

The Monarchs got a solid freshman season from Heston who led the team with 5.6 rebounds per game while chipping in 6.3 points. Junior Mike Foster is also back after providing 5.5 points off the bench including shooting .333 (24-of-72) from beyond the arc.

In the backcourt King's hope to get increased contributions from junior Rich Douglas and sophomore Connor Hughes while working freshman Nate Oliver into the rotation.

The Monarchs bolster the frontcourt pair of O'Shea and Heston with junior Pat O'Donnell and a trio of freshman Dan Rutecki, Christian Skrepenak and Derek Wilkins.

King's head coach J.P. Andrejko enters the season with 195 wins good for second on the Monarchs all-time list just seven victories from becoming the all-time winningest coach in King's history.
