King's Swimming Sweeps Past Mount St. Mary
Newburgh, N.Y. -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams posted victories over host Mount Saint Mary Saturday afternoon at the Elaine and William Kaplan Pool.
The Lady Monarchs scored a 99-79 victrory while the Monarch men notched a 106-83 win.
On the women's side
Macawley Brown notched a pair of first place swims with a 26.58 in the 50 yard freestyle and a 2:20.19 performance in the 200 butterfly. Bridgid Wynn also tallied two top-place finishes with a time of 2:06.46 in the 200 free and a 59.10 in the 100 free.
Patricia Manning posted a 2:24.87 in the 200 yard IM while
Erin McLin earned a first place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:22.16.
Marybeth Rudy finished just behind Manning in the 200 IM with a second place time of 2:33.58 and
Chrissy O'Loughlin earned second place points with a finish of 2:33.22 in the 200 butterfly.
Alexa Lambert and
Katie Fitch contributed a third place finish each with Lambert posting a 2:33.06 in the 200 backstroke while Fitch scored a 5:47.27 time in the 500 yard freestyle. The Lady Monarchs also went first second in the 400 medley relay with the team of Mclin, Brown,
Rachel Jonas and
Caitlin Tracchio took the top spot in a time of 4:25.77. Lambert, Rudy, O'Loughlin and
Shannon Johnson came in wiht a 4:37.86.
For the men
Michael Sweeney brought home two top finishes with a 1:56.16 in the 200 freestyle a 53.76 in the 100 freestyle.
Justin Weilert took first place in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 11:38.22 while also finishing in a time of 2:33.50 for third place in the 200 butterfly.
Kyle Newton added a first place finish in the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.93 and a second place mark of 2:13.92 in the 200 backstroke.
Josh Shoemaker and
Logan Kraus finished in first and third in the 200 IM in times of 2:10.71 and 2:31.22 respectively.
The King's man picked up three other first place finishes with
Matthew Dickson finishing in 2:31.74 in the 200 breaststroke. Joe Ciccarelli posted a 2:21.43 in the 200 butterfly and in the 500 yard freestyle
Andrew Reimann finished in a time of 5:35.48.
The Monarchs are back in action on Friday when they host Lebanon Valley at 6:00 p.m. at the Scandlon Pool.
