200-Yard Freestyle Relay Earns Podium Finish for Men's Swimming at Day Two of MAC Championships

YORK, PA (February 13, 2025) – The King's College men's swimming team opened day two of Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday at York College with some new personal best times and a podium placement.

In the men's 200-yard freestyle prelims, Chase Kubis qualified for the C finals at 1:55.07, placing fifth in his own heat and 22nd overall. Christopher Dutko additionally swam a personal best time of 1:57.93 in the event along with a 26th overall finish. Dutko's time was 3.40 faster than his original performance. M.Maciejczyk competed in the event as well, claiming 29th at 2:12.71.

In the finals, Kubis set a personal best time of 1:54.38 to earn 21st overall, and his time was .13 seconds quicker than his previous record.

Stefan Lakoseljac kicked his day two off in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries by being victorious in his heat at 1:01.09 with to finish 27th overall, while teammate Matthew Maciejczyk finished 31st with a time of 1:07.05. 

In the group events, the squad of Kubis, Lakoseljac, Connor Scheckner, and Kyle McDevitt earned a sixth-place podium finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:30.76.

The Monarchs currently sit in ninth with 156 points after the second day of conference championship action.

King's returns to the pool on Saturday, February 14, as the team competes in day three of the MAC championships at York College starting at 9:30 a.m.
