Monarchs Conclude Season with Personal Bests at the Final Day of MACs

YORK, PA (February 15, 2025) – The King's College men's swimming team kicked off day four of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Saturday at York College with new personal bests across the board as Connor Scheckner earned another podium placement. 
 
Chase Kubis started off the day with a personal best in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries at 49.49, posting a 14th place finish and breaking his original time by .38 seconds. Stefan Lakoseljac additionally swam a personal best time of 54.16 earning 31st, as his performance was .56 seconds quicker than his previous record. In the finals, Kubis placed 13th at 49.56.
 
Scheckner continued to dominate in the MAC championships by earning sixth in the 200-yard backstroke prelims at 1:57.24, while teammate Christopher Maciejczyk performed a new personal time 2:22.89. C.Maciejczyk's time earned him 23rd and was 1.46 seconds better than his old PR.
 
In the finals, Scheckner earned a fourth place podium finish with a personal best time of 1:55.70; .42 seconds quicker than his previous time, and only .10 seconds away from breaking the school record held by Bryce Groshardt in 2016.  
 
In the 200-yard breaststroke prelims, Kyle McDevitt broke his previous time by 2.26 seconds; placing 21st at 2:35.38. In the finals, McDevitt touched the wall at 2:35.81 to receive 22nd.
 
In the 1650-yard freestyle, Chris Dutko touched the wall at 19:31.44 to earn 20th, while teammate C.Maciejczyk swam a time of 20:55.47 earning 22nd. 
 
The Monarchs ended their conference championship campaign with a ninth-place finish in the 400-Freestyle relay, as the squad of Kubis, McDevitt, Lakoseljac, and Scheckner swam a time of 3:26.54. King's finished eighth in the conference with 343 points.
 
The men's swimming team concluded their regular season, but will host their annual Red and Gold meet at the Scandlon Natatorium on February 21 at 1:00 p.m.
