King's Hoop Teams Heading to DVC for Freedom Opener, Andrejko One win from 200; Hammonds Eight Points from 1,000

KING'S CAGERS TRAVELING TO DEL-VAL FOR FREEDOM OPENERS, ANDREJKO ONE WIN FROM 200, HAMMONDS EIGHT POINTS FROM 1,000 
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College men's snd women's basketball teams travel to Doylestown to open up their respective 2013-14 Freedom Conference schedules against host Delaware Valley College. The women tip off at 6:00 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 8:00  p.m.

Two members of the King's men's team will be looking to reach career milestones in the game.  Monarch head coach J.P. Andrejko enters the game one win away from reaching the 200-victory plateau while senior guard Kyle Hammonds is within eight points of reaching the 1,000-point mark.

King's men enter the matchup with a 4-1 mark and come off their first loss of the season in a 84-73 road loss at Drew University last Tuesday.  Delaware Valley is the defending Freedom Conference champion and stands at 3-2 after an 80-77 loss to Arcadia also last Tuesday.

Hammonds leads the Monarch men with 15.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while senior guard Joe Caffrey follows with 12.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists each contest. 

King's women stand at 3-3 following a 58-52 victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Monday. The Aggie women, meanwhile, are 1-2 after posting a 81-74 victory over Rowan last week. Junior forward Marissa Manning tops the Lady Monarchs with 14.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per-game while sophomore forward Jennifer Fabian follows with 11.2 points and 10.7 boards.  Freshman Kayla Feairheller, one of three rookie starters for the Lady Monarchs, adds 9.8 points and 4.8 boards.

Both King's will then return home Saturday for a Freedom Conference double-header against FDU-Florham. The women tip off at 1:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 3:00 p.m.
