King's Men's Basketball Hosts FDU-Florham in Key Freedom Conference Matchup

 
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The King's College men's basketball team is currently tied for with FDU-Florham for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Freedom Conference. The two teams jostle for position on Saturday when the Monarchs host the Devils at 3:00 p.m. at King's Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Monarchs improved to 9-11 overall and 4-5 in Freedom Conference play following an 82-44 victory over Eastern on Wednesday. FDU-Florham brings in an identical 9-11 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference play after a 63-60 loss to Manhattanville.
 
King's offense is paced by junior guard Kyle Hammonds with 13.3 points per game. Senior Matt Fiorino has netted 11.6 points per game has connected on 54-of-128 3-pointers on the season. Fiorino ranks second on King's all-time 3-point field goal with 196 career treys.
 
Tim O'Shea has provided a lift off the bench with 8.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Joe Caffrey has stepped into the starting lineup adding 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.  Ian Oakley leads the Monarchs with 61 assists on the year while averaging 4.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
 
Three Devils are averaging double-figure scoring led by junior Trevor Sykes with 14.6 points to go with 3.7 rebounds per game. Mike Williamson adds 13.5 points and 2.1 boards per contest. Will green is just shy of a season double-double averaging 10.6 points and a team-leading 9.0 rebounds per game. Derek Hall chips in 9.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
