King's Women's Tennis Scores 7-2 Win at Arcadia
Glenside, Pa. -- The King's College women's tennis team used a sweep of the doubles matches to set up a 7-2 victory over host Arcadia Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference action.
With the win the Lady Monarchs improved to 5-8 overall with a 4-1 league mark. Arcadia stands at 7-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The win enabled KIng's King's to secure the second-seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament.
King's took all three doubles matches with
Sara Lynn and
Madeline Griffin earning an 8-2 win over Kaila Gaughan and Emily Delp in the top flight. The team of
Emily Biffen and
Liz Demko won 8-1 over Jasmine Peake and Viola Sawyer while
Katlyn Rossowski and Nicole Molina notched a 8-6 victory over Alexandria Broome and Latoya Fluker.
Lynn tallied a win in the top flight singles 6-0, 6-1 over Gaughan. Griffin added a win at number two singles against Peake 6-0, 6-2. King's got a win at third flight singles from Biffen over Sawyer 6-2, 6-3. Molino also picked up a win at number six singles 6-2, 6-4 over Danielle Riggins.
The Lady Monarchs close out their regular season on Saturday when they host Eastern University at 1:00 p.m. The Freedom Conference Tournament begins May 1.
