King's Women's Tennis Falls to Misericordia in Freedom Conference Semi-Finals
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- The King's women's tennis team fell 5-1 to Misericordia in the Freedom Conference semifinal Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park.
King's
Sara Lynn and
Madeline Griffin scored an 8-6 win at top flight singles, but the Cougars picked up wins from Breanne Phillips and Emily Gherghel and Emily Boro and Emily Hullings to take a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition.
At top flight singles Misericordia's Michelle Cameron scored a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lynn. The Cougars also got a 6-4, 6-0 win from Phillips over
Emily Biffen. Gherghel finished off the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Kaitlyn Rossowski.
The Lady Monarchs finished the season 6-9 overall.
