King's Women's Tennis Sweeps Baptist Bible
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- The King's College women's tennis team swept past a short-handed Baptist Bible team, scoring a 9-0 victory Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park.
The Lady Monarch duo of
Madeline Griffin and
Sara Lynn knocked off Bliss Lecea and Kay Black 8-1.
Emily Biffen and
Katlyn Rossowski knocked off Ashlea Swingle and Nicole Molling 8-0. The King's pair of
Lauren DeReinzi and
Molly Conlin took a forfeit at third flight singles.
Griffin notched a win for the Monarchs at top flight singles 6-0, 6-0 over Lecea. Lynn also scored a King's victory at second flight singles 6-1, 6-0 over Black. DeReinzi won the first set 6-2, dropped the second 4-6 before winning the super tiebreaker 10-4.
King's Wagner scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Vander Stel at number four singles. The Lady Monarchs also picked up a win from Conlin in the fifth flight singles 6-0, 6-0 over Molling.
Maggie Walsh scored forfeit win at number six singles.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Tuesday when they host Keystone in their final dual match before the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships.
