Monaghan Goal Helps King's to 1-0 Win
Dallas, Pa. -- The King's College field hockey team picked up a 1-0 win over Juniata in the finale of the Misericordia tournament Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half the Lady Monarchs got on the board when
Alyssa Monaghan deflected in a crossing pass from
Kim Howanitz in front of the cage.

Megan Withrow made the lead stand up as she posted nine saves and tallied her first shutout of the 2013 season. Julianne Jones started the game in the cage for Juniata making three saves in just under a half of work, while Shelby Miller took the loss also making three saves.
Abby McManus tallied four shots for the Lady Monarchs while Monaghan had three. The teams each posted 13 shots and the Eagles held a slight 8-7 advantage in penalty corners.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Allentown to take on Muhlenberg College in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
