KING'S BASKETBALL TEAMS PLAYING IN SEPARATE WEEKEND TOURNAMENTSWILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's and men's basketball teams will return to the court on Friday with respective away tournaments. The Lady Monarchs travel to Rochester, NY to play in the Chuck Ressler Invitational Tournament at the University of Rochester. The Monarch men will venture to Selinsgrove to compete in the Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament on the campus of Susquehanna University.
King's women will open the event against defending USA South Conference champion Ferrum College. A year ago Ferrum was 27-3 and reached the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Ferrum stands at 0-1 after falling to defending Old Dominion Conference champion and fellow 2014 NCAA national qualifier Randolph-Macon 69-65 in its lone game to date.

The Lady Monarchs are 1-1 thus far after finishing third in the Neumann University Tip-Off Tournament last weekend. King's has been paced thus far by 6-foot senior forward Marisa Manning who averaged 20.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while earning all-tournament honors at Neumann. Sophomore forward
Kayla Feairheller follows with 11.0 points and 8.0 rebounds. Sophomore point-guard
Kasey Seitz adds 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while freshman 6-foot-2 center
Olivia Hoffman contributed 9.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per-game.
Junior forward
Tara Zdancewicz averaged 10.0 points and 3.5 boards while sophomore guard
Shae Grim tallied 7.0 points. King's will also welcome back junior forward
Jennifer Fabian who missed the first two games with an injury but started all 25 games last season, averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 8.5 rebounds per-game.
Ferrum, meanwhile, returns seven of 11 players from last year's team, including starters Jacole Hairston and Kylene Culler. Hairston was a USA South All-Conference second-team pick after averaging 13.3 points per game, while Culler earned All-Conference third-team honors averaging 9.6 points and 9.8 rebounds.
Should the Lady Monarchs defeat Ferrum it would play the winner of the other first-round matchup between Rochester (2-0) and Clarkson (2-0) Saturday at 8:00 p.m. If King's loses to Ferrum the Lady Monarchs will play in the consolation game Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
KING'S MEN AT SUSQUEHANNA TOURNEY ...The King's men will take a 2-0 record into the Susquehanna event and come off a 69-56 win over Penn State Hazleton Monday night. The Monarchs will open play Friday at 6:00 p.m. against Penn College of Technology.

Dan Rutecki who averaged 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds after two games. Sophomore guard
Nate Oliver has come off the bench to add 10.5 points. Freshman forward
Chris Fazzini follows with 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds while sophomore power forward
Derek Wilkins has contributed 8.0 points and 3.5 boards.

Daniel Borner averages 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds while sophomore guard
John Fazzini has posted 5.0 points. Junior guard
Connor Hughes has delivered 4.5 points and 2.0 assists while junior center
Tom Heston chips in with 6.5 rebounds.
Penn College is 0-1 after dropping 100-62 decision to NCAA Division II Mansfield University. The Wildcats are led thus far by freshman small forward Cass Wisniewski with 12.0 points while Thomas Ross follows with 11.0 points.
Susquehanna (1-0) will face Penn State Scranton (3-1) in the other first-round pairing. The consolation game is set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the title game to follow at 3:00 p.m.
