King's Basketball Teams Return to Court Tuesday Night

KING'S BASKETBALL TEAMS IN ACTION TUESDAY NIGHT

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College men's and women's basketball teams return to the court Tuesday night with respective home and away games.  The Lady Monarchs travel to face local rival Scranton at 5:30 p.m. in the John Long Center. The King's men, meanwhile, will host Drew University at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.

King's is 2-2 after replacing third in the University of Rochester Invitational Tournament on Saturday after posting a 77-76 win over Clarkson University.  Scranton, meanwhile, is 4-0 after winning the Scotty Wood Tournament at Muhlenberg College.

Senior forward Marissa Manning tops King's with 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per-game while sophomore forward Kayla Feairheller follows with 12.5 points and 7.3 boards. Junior forward Jen Fabian and sophomore guard Kasey Seitz both average 9.0 points per-game.

King's men, meanwhile, face Drew University looking to avenge a 84-73 loss to the Rangers last season in Madison, NJ.  Both teams enter the matchup with identical records of 3-1. The Monarchs placed second in the Susquehanna University Invitational on Saturday while Drew defeated Vassar 80-60, also on Saturday.

Sophomore forward Dan Rutecki leads King's with averages of 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds while freshman forward Chris Fazzini follows with 9.5 points and 2.8 boards. Sophomore guard Nate Oliver has tallied 8.8 points with eight three-pointers while freshman forward Dan Borner contributes 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.

Both King's teams will then enjoy Thanksgiving break before returning to the court Wednesday to open Freedom Conference play at home against Delaware Valley College. The women's game is at 6:00 p.m. while the men follow at 8:00 p.m.
