King's Swimmers Set Two More School Records During Day-Two of MAC Championships

KING'S SWIMMERS SET TWO MORE SCHOOL RECORDS AT MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

YORK -- The King's College swim teams set two more school records but also fell victim to a pair of disqualifications during day-two of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. Friday at the Graham Aquatic Center in York.

Day-two started badly for the teams beginning with the 400-medley relay,  King's team of Erin McLin, Rachel Jonas, Macawley Brown, and Brigid Wynn were disqualified due to an early takeoff.
 
Then, in the men's 400-medley relay, the Monarch team of James McLaughlin, Matt Dickson, Lucas Crock, and Josh Shoemaker were also disqualified due to a stroke infraction.
But things picked up when the women's 400-medley relay team later ran a time trial in attempt to post an NCAA qualifying time. The team set a new school-record with a time of 4:13.34, breaking the previous mark of 4:16.86 established earlier in the season.

The men's 200-medley team of McLaughlin, Sweeney, Kyle Newton, and Shoemaker, which was disqualified Thursday also swam a time trial and posted a new school-record time of 1:41.51, breaking the previous mark of 1:43.52 set last season.
In the women's 200-individual medley, Patricia Manning placed seventh with a time of 2:17.44. In the men's 200-individual medley Kyle Newton placed ninth at 2:00.42. In the women's 50-freestyle, Brown finished 10th with a 25.39. In the men's 500-freestyle McLaughlin was 13th with a 4:59.05 while Michael Sweeney finished 15th with a time of 5:02.14.
Day-three of the event will continue Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Women's 200-Medley Relay:  
Brigid Wynn, Rachel Jonas, Macawley Brown, Erin McLin - 1:54.76.

Men's 800-Freestyle Relay:
Michel Sweeney, Kyle Newton, James McLaughlin, Justin Weilert - 7:23.69.

Women's 400-Medley Relay:
Erin McLin, Rachel Jonas, Macawley Brown, Brigid Wynn - 4:13.34.

Men's 200-Medley Relay:
James McLaughlin, Michael Sweeney, Kyle Newton, Josh Shoemaker - 1:41.51.
