MANNING PLACES FOURTH IN 200 BREASTSTROKE TO CONCLUDE MAC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH THREE TOP-EIGHT FINISHES

YORK -- King's College senior swimming standout Patricia Manning posted her third top-seven finish to conclude the final day of 2014 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships with a fourth-place in the 200-breaststoke Sunday at the Graham Aquatic Center in York.

Manning touched fourth with a time of 2:31.95, concluding her collegiate career as the Lady Monarchs' most decorated female swimmer.  Manning wrapped up her four-year at King's with 12 top-eight individual event finishes, including seven top-four places. In her final MAC competition she finished second in the 400 individual medley, fourth in the 200 breaststroke, and seventh in the 200 individual medley.

In the 200-butterfly, Macawley Brown finished ninth with a school-record time of 2:13.13, breaking her own mark of 2:16.45 set last season. Marybeth Ruddy was 11th in the 200-breaststroke at 2:40.02 while Rachel Jonas was 13th with a 2:42.09.

In the 200 backstroke, Brigid Wynn finished 14th and set a new school record with a time of 2:17.05, surpassing the previous mark of 2:17.41 set last season. Chrissy O'Loughlin was 13th in the 200-butterfly at 2:31.18.

King's women were also ninth with a new school-record in the 400-freestyle relay as the team of Brown, Erin McLin, Manning, and Wynn swam a 3:47.87, surpassing the previous mark of 3:48.14 set last season. Brown's 100-yard leadoff leg of 55.23 was also a school-record, breaking the mark of 56.94 set last season.

In the men's 200-butterfly, Kyle Newton placed sixth with a time of 2:02.60. In the 200-backstroke, James McLaughlin placed seventh with a time of 2:01.79. In the men's 200-breaststroke Matthew Dickson finished 10th at 2:19.73; Michael Sweeney was 12th with a 2:21.08; while Lucas Crock was 12th at 2:22.30.

The Monarchs' 400-freestyle relay team of Sweeney, Newton, McLaughlin, and Josh Shoemaker placed eighth with a time of 3:19.66.

In all, King's swimmers combined to set 10 new school records (listed below) over the four-day event.

In the team standings King's women and men's teams both placed eighth. The women team accumulated 203 points while the men tallied 154.
