Griffin Wins 21st Straight Singles Match but King's Falls to D-2 ESU

GRIFFIN WINS 21ST STRAIGHT BUT KING'S WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO D-2 ESU

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College women's tennis star Madeline Griffin improved to 22-1 on the year but it wasn't enough as the Lady Monarchs dropped a 7-2 decision to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University Monday at Kirby Park.

With the win ESU improved to 7-6 while King's slipped to 6-11.

The Warriors captured two of the three doubles matches with Griffin teaming with Julia Keppel to post an 8-5 triumph for the Monarchs.  ESU then won five of the six singles contest with Griffin winning her school-record 21st consecutive match with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph.

King's returns to the court Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. Freedom Conference Tournament matchup as the third-seeded Lady Monarchs travel to meet second-seeded Misericordia in Dallas.
