KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS PAIR IN MYRTLE BEACH, EVENS MARK AT 3-3

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- The King's College softball team split a pair of games Tuesday in day-three of its trip to the Snowbird Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. 

King's fell to NCAA Division II Ohio Valley University 9-0 before posting a 12-2 decision over Mt. Aloysius College.

Against Ohio Valley, King's mustered six hits in the game and also hurt itself by committing four errors.  Lexi Wolk led the Monarchs with two hits, Rachael DeTore had a double, and Amy Kowalczyk, Amber Saylor, and Alizabeth Ellsworth, each had a single.  Samantha Bloom took the pitching loss, allowing six unearned runs in three innings.

Against Mount Aloysius, the game was tied 2-2 before the Monarchs cashed in for three runs in the third before taking advantage of four Mountie errors to push across six runs to end the game on the eight-run rule.

Nicole Turner had two hits, including a double and RBI. Kelcie Senchak also had two hits and scored three runs while Ellsworth had a RBI single and scored twice. Rachel LInso was the winning pitcher, allowing two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

King's will wrap up its Spring Break Trip Wednesday with a 9:30 a.m. game against Cazenovia College before meeting Penn College of Technology at 1:30 p.m.
