KING'S FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO 7TH RANKED SALSBURY, 5-1

DALLAS -- Salisbury University lived up to its reputation as an NCAA Division III power on Sunday as the seventh ranked Sea Gulls posted a 5-1 victory over King's College on the final day of the Misericordia University Individual.

With the win, Salisbury improved to 3-0 while King's tasted its first loss, slipping to 2-1.

King's hung close in the first half as Salisbury managed just a 1-0 lead at the break when Natalie Wilson scored unassisted 7:15 into the game.

But the Sea Gulls erupted with four goals in the second half, including three in a 2:31 span to build a 4-1 advantage with 24 minutes to play. King's got on the board when Kelsey Gabriele scored off an assist from Caitlin Wood with 15:21 remaining, but Salisbury put the game away when Abbey Shobe scored her second goal of the day with 9:20 left in the contest.

King's goalie Paige Tedik made 10 saves in the game as the Monarchs were outshot 22-6. Salisbury also owned a 14-9 advantage in penalty corners.

The Monarchs are idle until Saturday when King's visits Susquehanna University in a 1:00 p.m. matchup in Selinsgrove.
