HERSHEY, Pa. - Forward Isaac Cirinna netted two short-handed goals, but the King's College men's hockey team fell to Lebanon Valley 8-3 at Herseypark Arena Friday night.

With the loss, King's slips to 0-11, while Lebanon Valley moves to 4-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the conference.

Lebanon Valley came out hot against the Monarchs, scoring three goals in the first nine minutes of play to take the 3-0 lead. After a tripping penalty on King's late in the first, defenseman Nicholas Palumbo caused a turnover in the neutral zone and found Cirinna driving up the left side. Cirinna was able to slip past the Lebanon Valley defender and make a quick wrist shot in front of the goalie to cut the lead to 3-1 with 16 seconds left in the period.

In similar fashion, Lebanon Valley scored two goals in the opening six minutes of the second period to move up 5-1. King's responded when Jamie Lukas redirected a Mitchell Foster shot into the back of the net at the 6:18 mark.

The Flying Dutchmen would keep the pressure on, scoring on a powerplay at 9:21 and netting another goal at 18:37 to go into the third leading 7-2.

A tripping penalty on King's gave the Flying Dutchmen the man advantage, but Cirinna was able to knock in his second short-handed goal off a Nicholas Gullo feed at 2:24. Lebanon Valley would respond two minutes later with their own goal, cementing the final score at 8-2.

Link Ferch and Jake Tugnutt split time in goal for King's with Ferch making 22 saves, while Tugnutt recorded 17.

The Monarchs return to action tomorrow night for a 7:20 p.m. conference matchup at Chatham University.
