KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS PAIR ON SECOND DAY OF SPRING BREAK TRIP

MYRTLE BEACH -- For the second day in a row, the King's College softball team split a pair of games on its Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.

King's lost its first game 2-1 to Grove City before downing Chatham 10-1 in the nightcap.

Against Chatham, Amber Saylor was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored while Samantha Bloom was 3-for 5 with two runs and a RBI. Lexi Wolk was 1-for-4 with a RBI triple while Alizabeth Ellsworth went 1-for-3 with a RBI. Kristina Kocher chipped in with a a triple, RBI, and scored a run.  

Kocher also picked up the pitching win, tossing four innings of scoreless relief while allowing three hits with four strikeouts. Starter Mikayla Hoskins pitched he first three innings and allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Against Grove City, King's was unable to register a hit and scored its lone run in the first inning when Amber Saylor reached base on an error and later scored from third on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Wolk.   King's pitcher Taylor Norris was the hard-luck loser, allowing two runs on five hits.

The Monarchs return to action Tuesday with a 9:30 AM game against Wesley before facing LaRoche at 1:30 PM.
