KING'S MEN'S HOCKEY DROPS 5-1 DECISION TO NEUMANN

ASTON -- The Neumann University men's hockey team broke open a game tied 1-1 after the first period by scoring two goals in each of the second and third periods as the host Knights posted a 5-1 victory over King's College Saturday afternoon at Ice Works in Aston.

With the win, Neumann improved to 6-12-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. King's, meanwhile, fell to 0-19 and 0-11 in the UCHC.

Neumann struck first on a goal by Jordan Court 14:05 into the opening period. The Monarchs tied the game up when Luke Damiano found the back of the net off assists from Tyler O'Mara and Luciano Bucci with 2:37 left in the opening stanza.

In the second period the Knights scored twice in the opening 6:45 on goals by Liam Board and Ryan Swain to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. From there, Neumann scored twice more as Tommy Dougherty and Chris Caldwell each scored with 8:24 and 3:44 remaining respectively.

Neumann outshot King's 46-15 while the Monarchs won 31 faceoffs compared to 21 for Neumann. King's goalie Link Ferch made 41 saves in the game.

King's plays again Friday with a 7:00 PM game at Bryn Athyn College before returning home Saturday for a 7:00 PM matchup against Manhattanville College.
