KING'S MEN HAND ANDREJKO 250TH WIN IN 80-70 VICTORY OVER DEL-VAL

12566DOYLESTOWN --  The King's College men's basketball team handed head coach J.P. Andrejko his 250th career victory as the Monarchs posted an 80-70 road win over host Delaware Valley University Wednesday night in Doylestown.

With the win, King's improved to 9-11 overall and 5-4 in the MAC Freedom Conference while the Aggies slipped to 4-16 and 2-7. Andrejko, in his 16th year at King's, now owns a 250-191 mark with the Monarchs.

King's came out the gates and quickly built a 13-5 lead with 14:59 to play in the opening half thanks to eight points by Connor Callejas.  After the Aggies trimmed the lead to 14-9, the Monarchs used a 7-4 surge to up the lead to 21-13 with 12:16 on the clock after a Callejas three-pointer, his 12th point of the half.

The Aggies eventually battled back to tie the score at 35-35 with 1:12 on the clock after a pair of free throws by Austin Stoeckel, but Dan Angelo buried a three-pointer with 1:04 remaining as the Monarchs stretched the lead to 38-35, an advantage they would take into the half-time break. Callejas finished the half with a team-high 14 points.

In the second half the Monarchs opened with a 16-4 run lead and build a 54-39 advantage with 14:39 remaining after a three-pointer from Tyler Millan and five straight points from Chris Fazzini

Delaware Valley whittled away at the lead and eventually closed to within 69-63 with 3:58 to play after a pair of foul shots from Austin Chablot, but the Monarchs outscored the Aggies 11-7 the rest of the way to walk away with the victory.

Callejas led King's with 24 points with four three-pointers while Fazzini added 17 points and closed to within 23 points of 100 career points. Millan added 13 points to pace the Monarchs. Joshua Bailey contributed eight points while Dan Angelo chipped in with six for the Monarchs.

Lybrant Robinson led the Aggies with 14 points while Chabot added 13.

King's will return to the floor Saturday with a 3:00 PM matchup with Eastern University.
