WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 7, 2018) – The King's College women's ice hockey team will be on the road for the first time this season when they square off with Nazareth College this weekend for a pair of games in Rochester, NY. The Monarchs and Golden Flyers will faceoff on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and again on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex.

Last Time Out: King's played Utica tough in two games but fell to the visiting Pioneers 4-0 and 6-0 to open conference play last weekend.
Nazareth shut out Wilkes twice in Wilkes-Barre last weekend by scores of 10-0 and 7-0.
The Book On The Monarchs (1-3-0, 0-2-0 UCHC, 0-0-0 MAC):
- King's has received strong play in net this year by Kiva Sierra Stoltz. The sophomore is 38th in the nation with a 2.27 goals against average and 27th with a .932 save percentage.
- The Monarchs were a little better on not committing penalties during the second weekend while continuing their excellent play on the penalty kill. King's is tied for 12th in the nation with 12.5 penalty minutes per game and have successfully killed 22 of 24 power play opportunities.
- KC is 30th in the nation on the power play scoring two goals in 18 opportunities and are tied for 15th in combined special teams with a 57.1 percentage.
- Four different sophomores recorded two points during the opening weekend. Kellie Munro and Raeann Clancey had one goal and one assist each while Josée Aitken and Gracen Mahoney both recorded two assists.
- Clancey scored the game-winning goal and added an assist on the insurance goal in King's 3-1 victory over Wilkes to earn Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
- Mahoney has been great on faceoffs this season winning 62.0%. She is 62-38 on faceoffs. Sophomore Morgan Almon leads the team in blocked shots with 18 while classmate Kelly Tuffy has nine.
- Freshman Maggie Gould scored the first goal of the season during the first period of King's season-opening win. Her goal and Mary Deyell's goal against the Lakers were on the power play.
The Book On The Golden Flyers (4-0-0, 0-0-0 UCHC):
- Nazareth is in their inaugural season and won their first four games against two other first-year programs.
- The Golden Flyers have started their program strong with four big victories by an average of 7.50 goals. Nazareth leads the nation in scoring and scoring margin while they are second in scoring defense. They have scored 31 goals and allowed just one this year against Anna Maria and Wilkes.
- NC has scored 31 unanswered goals after Anna Maria scored the first goal of the year 1:30 into their season opener. Six of their goals have come on the power play where they are ranked eighth in the nation with a 30.0 percentage. The Flyers are a perfect 13-for-13 on the penalty kill to rank 14th in the nation with a combined special teams percentage of 57.6.
- Hailey Redders and Emily Kromer are tied for 11th in the nation with 2.00 points per game with eight points each. Redders has totaled four goals and four assists while Kromer has three goals and five assists.
- Taylor Hudon and Cristina Darby have added seven points apiece. Hudon recorded a team-leading five goals and two assists while Darby has two goals and a team-leading five assists. Three of Hudon's five goals have been game-winners which leads the nation. Keely Rose has recorded six points on four goals and two assists.
- Hudon is tied for 11th in the nation in goals per game while Redders and Rose are 15th. Darby and Kromer are tied for 16th in assists per game.
- Nazareth has played three goalies with Adrianna Brehm seeing the most action. Brehm is 2-0 with one shutout, eighth in the nation with a 0.50 GAA, and 13th with a .958 save percentage.
Up Next: King's will continue their New York road swing with a weekend series at Manhattanville College. The Monarchs will visit the Playland Ice Casino in Rye, NY for the first time on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday night and then 3 p.m. on Saturday against the Valiants.
