KING'S SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH MUHLENBERG

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College softball team returned to the field for the first time since their Spring Break trip and split a doubleheader with visiting Muhlenberg College Tuesday in the Betzler Athletic Complex.

King's won the first game 9-1 in five innings while Muhlenberg captured the nightcap 9-4. With the split King's stands at 7-3 on the year while Muhlenberg is 6-8.

In the opener, King's exploded for seven runs in the first inning before adding two more in the third to go ahead 9-0.  

Megan Beaupre went 2-for-4 with four RBI, including a pair of two-run doubles. Ally DeVoir finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Kelcie Senchak was 1-for-3 with a RBI double, while Samantha Bloom, Lexi Wolk both added RBI singles. Bloom was also the winning pitcher, scattering eight hits over five innings with one strikeout.

In the second game, Muhlenberg took a 4-0 first inning lead and added one in the second and two more in the fourth to build a 8-4 lead after four innings.

Wolk led King's in game-two with a 3-for-4 showing and a RBI single. Amber Saylor finished 1-for-4 with a two-run triple to pace King's offensively. King's is next slated to visit Lycoming College for a 3:00 PM doubleheader in Williamsport.
