KING'S SOFTBALL DROPS OPENING PAIR IN MYRTLE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- The King's College softball team opened its 2018 schedule with a pair of losses at Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic Sunday in Myrtle Beach, SC.

King's lost its first game 9-0 to Eastern Mennonite University, then dropped a 11-8 decision to Medaille College.

Against Eastern Mennonite, King's mustered only three hits with two coming off the bat of Lexi Wolk. Amber Saylor had the third Monarch hit of the game.  King's hurt itself with four errors in the game.

In its second game of the day against Medaille, the Monarchs built a 6-1 lead after four innings but were outscored 10-2 over he final three innings.

Megan Beaupre paced King's by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Taylor Norris was 4-for-4 and drove in two runs while Brittany McNair and Kelcie Senchak contributed two hits apiece.

King's continues its Spring Break slate Monday with a 9:30 AM game against Regis College before meeting Mount Aloyisius at 11:30 AM.
