KING'S SOFTBALL WINS FINAL TWO GAMES IN MYRTLE BEACH TO FINISH SPRING TRIP WITH 6-2 RECORD
MYRTLE BEACH -- The King's College softball team won its final two games at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic Wednesday n Myrtle Beach. King's defeated both Dean College and Hilbert College by identical 8-0 scores.
In the first game against Dean, King's scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second, and four in the third to invoke the eight-run role after five innings.
Samantha Bloom was 2-for-3 while Amber Saylor finished 2-for-4. Brittany McNair went 1-for-3 with a two-run triple while Mackenzie Yori and Megan Beaupre both finished 2-for-3. Nicole Kirse was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Against Hilbert, King's scored once in each of the first, fourth, and fifth innings to build a 3-0 lead. But King's ended the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Monarchs pushed across five runs.
Mindina Lieback was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and RBI while Saylor finished 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and a RBI. Andria Narisi was 1-for-1 with two RBI and drew two walks while McNair finished 1-for-3 with a two-run single. Yori also drove in two runs.
Kristina Kocher was the winning pitcher in relief for King's, tossing the final 2.1 innings, retiring all seven hitters she faced. Kelcie Senchak started fro King's and pitched 3.2 innings before giving way to Kocher with two out in the fourth.
